SUMMARY
On March 29, 2023, the United Nations General Assembly adopted by consensus the resolution on the climate put forward by Vanuatu, which France co-sponsored.
Hugo Wavrin, Deputy Legal Advisor (Human Rights, Humanitarian and Influence Affairs) from the French Mission to the United Nation explains that this resolution aims to obtain an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice on the obligations of states with regard to climate change.
